Heroes Of One Life

Who are we?

Heros D’Une Vie (Hero of One Life) is a charity organisation based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). We were set up to help children suffering from homelessness, teenage prostitution and children or adults that have been victims of sexual abuse.

What makes us different?

Charities often ask for money for good causes, but the donors have no connection with how the money is spent. At Hero of One Life we connect you with the person you are supporting so that you can see for yourself the impact of your generosity. Even small donations can often be life changing.

How does it work?

Hero of One Life has created a visual platform where funders and donors will be able to see the person or people that benefitted from their donation. Being able to attach a face to your donation makes the process of giving more tangible and rewarding.

Why are we needed?

It is a sad reality that many people in the DRC and particularly children, find themselves cast out and destined for a life of poverty and insecurity. There can be a variety of reasons for this.

How does it work?

Hero of One Life has created a visual platform where funders and donors will be able to see the person or people that benefitted from their donation. Being able to attach a face to your donation makes the process of giving more tangible and rewarding.

We will also feature people who have benefitted from donations on our new TV show called ‘Hero of One Life’. This will provide the opportunity for people receiving money from the charity to thank their hero by name and perhaps to explain their circumstances.

This will also help to raise awareness about the difficult lives that many people in the DRC are facing and how people like you are taking action to help.

Why are we needed?

It is a sad reality that many people in the DRC and particularly children, find themselves cast out and destined for a life of poverty and insecurity. There can be a variety of reasons for this.

“Shege” is the name in the DRC for children and teenagers whose parents cannot afford to look after them. They are abandoned with nowhere to go.

“Ujana” is the name in the DRC for teenage girls who are forced into prostitution. Many of them are homeless and living in extreme poverty. Selling their body is seen as being the only way to stay alive.

“Kuluna” is the name of a category of homeless people who are forced into a life of crime to survive. Many kuluna terrorise people and steal to make a living, feeling they have no other choices in life.

We are not willing to turn a blind eye to these categories of people who are most in need of help. At Hero of One Life we will do everything we can to offer people the support they need to live better lives.
